Online Bicycle Safety Review

Directions: Watch the two videos below and review the bicycle safety rules on the right.

When you have completed all three, submit the online bicycle safety review completion form.

Note: Privacy law necessitates a warning that whenever a person follows external links, such as watching videos, he or she may be exposed to unintended third party tracking.

Bicycle safety rules to know:

  • 1. Always where a helmet - in the event of a fall, a helmet can save your life or prevent serious injury.  Plus, under Florida law, children are required to wear helmets.
  • 2. Make sure your helmet fits property.  A loose helmet may not protect you in the event of a crash.
  • 3. If you are riding on the road, always ride with traffic. Riding with traffic is much safer than riding against traffic.
  • 4. If you are riding on the sidewalk, look carefully at each intersection before crossing.  Don’t assume that a car approaching the intersection will see you and stop.  Make eye contact with the driver and be prepared to stop quickly.

Don’t forget to submit the online bicycle safety review completion form.
